There’s nothing lovelier than spending good time with my loved ones. 😊 Reya and I had been planning this lunch since October, I think. It’s to celebrate her graduation! We went to Ramada Plaza’s Long Feng Restaurant because both of us craved for some dim sums. I went to pick up Haireya’s bits and bobs before going to the hotel. It was supposed to be a surprise for her, and boy, was she surprised!

I waited for her at the lobby with the balloons and cupcakes that I baked the day before. The cupcakes weren’t planned though. It just happened that I had some extra cupcakes in the house. I practiced baking vanilla cupcakes the night before because there would be a customer wanting to try out the cupcakes over the weekend as engagement gifts. To be honest, it’s been a couple of months since I last baked that I don’t know if I still know how to bake! 😅

As per usual, we catch up about what’s happening in each other’s life — we talked about almost everything! Since it is already December, we made a toast to 2017 and hoping that 2018 will be a better year. We reminisced the year and I silently was glad with the things I went through this year. Not like “overly glad, glad”, but glad with the way I’ve grown. It was a nice time to simply recharge myself and relax too, resting from the busy month before, with the best of company. 😊

Reya was slightly taken aback when she first saw the balloons, and went “Do I really have to hold the balloons around?” Well, she survived 5 years of medical school — that’s some legit reason to carry 7 helium balloons around the hotel! We went upstairs to the restaurant for lunch as soon as she was in the lobby because I was famished. I haven’t had anything to eat since morning and it was already noon. *um, pictures can wait until my tummy is full* 🙄

So after lunch, we spent the rest of the afternoon trying to find good lighting and backgrounds for pictures. #keepingitrealguys 😂 We asked at least 4 people to take pictures of us, but finally resorted to taking selfies on our own. Oh! There was a little 2-year-old girl came to us with her grandpa when we were busy taking pictures. She was attracted to the balloons (hey, who doesn’t?). We let her play with the balloons for a bit until the grandpa tried hard to distract her with something else. I reckon he’s nervous if the child insisted on having Haireya’s balloons. All good though. The girl happily walked away exploring the lobby after. Such a doll!

Well, this year has been a year of healing for me, and I plan to focus my energy on fitness and my academic in 2018. I believe I’ve had enough rest and it’s time to take control of my life back. Anyways, here’s to hoping an even better and wonderful year in 2018 for all of us! And congratulations, Dr. Reya ❤️ You’ll be a great doctor, I’m sure of it.
