universal studios singapore

Since my anxiety symptoms escalated over a year now, I hadn’t been in a mood to travel. I think my last travel was to Melbourne at the end of 2015. I felt as if I wouldn’t be able to enjoy myself to the fullest when I was too busy worrying about life.

.

But lately I’m in need of a holiday, even a short one! 😜 And the closest place to go for a little adrenaline rush and a good dose of fun is the Universal Studios Singapore. At first I planned the trip with my friends, but something came up. Then my cousins asked me to join them on their trip to Singapore. I was like, “Yes, please.” Haha.

We quickly headed to the Universal Studios Singapore after a good breakfast, excited to start the day of theme park fun! It showered a bit earlier in the morning, and we prayed our hearts out that it’d stop raining so we can enjoy the rides.

This is my second time going to the USS. Since the last time I came I didn’t get the chance to try out the Battlestar Galactica roller coaster ride, I felt as if the trip was incomplete. Fun fact: I’m a roller coaster virgin. I mean, adult roller coaster. I’ve been to the kids’ roller coaster numerous times already since those were the only roller coasters that I dared to ride (I screamed like a mad woman though).

.

This time around, I promise myself to ride the roller coaster — at least the less scarier adult one of Battlestar Galactica (I chickened out on the Cyclon ride). I was soo scared during the ride that I didn’t even scream. I opened my eyes a couple of times, but kept them closed during most of the ride hehe. We prepared some money to buy the express pass, but thank God we didn’t need it! Saved me a lot of money to buy souvenirs.

This was practically us when we saw the Battlestar Galactica ride:

Normally, to get in the roller coaster, you have to put your belongings in a locker. There is a staff who scans you, so don’t try to sneak your phone or camera in. The locker is free to rent in 45 minutes so pay attention to the time to take your stuff. If you forget, the charge would be $2 for each 15 minutes late.

Revenge of the Mummy is my favourite of all. I can take the ride again and again and still scream like a crazy lady. πŸ˜‚ We took the front seats for the Transformer ride, and boy, it is recommended! We felt as if Megatron and its decepticons were really there to get us. So naturally, my cousins and I were the loudest ones screaming. #sorrynotsorry

I took a lot of pictures there too because everything was so Instagrammable, if that’s even a word! One good thing about USS is its decent size. Hence, we managed to go everywhere by 5.00 p.m. and chill afterwards.

One more tip would be to make sure you take plenty of water with you. It gets quite hot standing in queues in the Singapore heat! I brought water with me, but still I bought the slushies twice because it was too hot. During my first USS trip, the aim was to find all the characters so we literally chased every single one for pictures. This time around, we’re more focus on taking rides.

Oh! I almost forgot. The night before we played bean boozled. It was a great fun! I recommend you to bring along a packet and play it with your mates during your roadtrip. πŸ˜… In all, the place is packed with rides and characters bursting with life that will surely get you knackered by the end of the day!
