“The less I needed, the better I felt.” – Charles Bukowski

I’m excited to start the challenge (I know it’s long overdue)! 😆 I love lists. So completing the challenge and crossing of the list of challenges would be very satisfying for me hehe. Here is the step-by-step guide for today’s challenge that I got from MuchelleB.com:
1. Print the 30 Days to Simplify checklist.
Done. I keep the checklist with my daily to-do-list so I won’t forget. 😊
2. Get a dedicated notebook (online or physical).
I’m using the installed Notes app on my phone since that’s where I put all my routine notes, thoughts and stuff. It’s nice to have everything in one place. I create a new note on my phone and dedicate it to Simplify Life Challenge. She said that this will mainly be for the last two weeks of the mental decluttering activities.
.
3. Prepare for the challenge.
I have to answer a few questions to commemorate the start of the challenge. I’ll just write it down here and then copy it to my phone. 😜
Why are you doing this challenge?
The challenge seems interesting to me, plus I’ve always wanted to try minimalist living as I don’t really fancy clutters. I find decluttering helps clear and relax my mind so it ought to be good to control the anxiety I’m having. I hope the challenge helps me from shopping a lot too! Hehe 😛.
What’s your end goal?
I want to walk in to a clear, open space surrounded by the items I know about. I also want to look put together at the end of the day.
What are your blocks?
I might do the challenge halfway and just procrastinate it until the end of time. To maintain the motivation, I’m going to watch the YouTube video for the challenge of the day soon after I go through my daily to-do-list in the morning. Since my to-do-list has become a routine in my life, it reduces the chance of me forgetting the challenge. I reckon the challenges won’t take too much time for me as my space is pretty decently decluttered. I’ll put aside 20 minutes before I go to the gym in the morning to do the challenges.
4. If you’re self pacing, plan it out.
I’ll do the challenges on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. This is so I can write about other stuff and you won’t get bored reading only about the Simplify Your Life series! 😉
5. Do your laundry.
Since I always do my laundry every night, I’m going to do exactly that on Friday night since we’re decluttering wardrobe on Saturday.
6. Celebrate how fabulous you are.
I’m going to go to the gym after this and celebrate how fabulous I am for doing this challenge. 🎀
…
I’m done with the first challenge! *dust off my shoulder* Honestly, I hope that I stick to this challenge until the end. Here’s the video link to today’s challenge.
